Configscope

Privacy

Two parts: the free tools on this site, and the Configscope for Jira app.

The tools on this site

Every tool on this site runs entirely in your browser. The numbers you type into a field, a limit checker, or a workflow calculator are used to render the result on your screen and go nowhere else. There is no server-side processing of that data, because there is no server involved beyond serving the page itself.

Concretely: no accounts, no cookies, no analytics scripts, no third-party trackers, no form submissions. Refreshing the page clears whatever you entered — nothing was stored anywhere to begin with.

Configscope for Jira (the app)

The app is installed by a Jira Cloud site administrator from the Atlassian Marketplace and is opened from Jira's administration screens. Only site administrators can open it.

What it reads

When an administrator starts a scan, the app reads the following from that Jira site through Jira's REST API, using the permissions listed on its Marketplace page:

It reads counts, not content. It does not read work item summaries, descriptions, comments, attachments or the values themselves, and it does not read user profiles.

What it stores

Nothing. The app has no database and no storage of its own. Scan results exist only on the administrator's screen while the page is open; closing the page discards them, and the next scan starts from scratch. Because nothing is stored, uninstalling the app leaves nothing behind and there is nothing to request the deletion of.

Where it runs

The app is built on Atlassian Forge and runs on Atlassian's infrastructure. It declares no external network access, so nothing about your configuration is sent to Configscope or to anyone else.

Billing and licence data

Purchase and billing are handled by Atlassian through the Marketplace. Configscope never sees payment details. As with every Marketplace vendor, Atlassian tells Configscope the licence status of an installation and shares the site's technical and billing contact details under Atlassian's Marketplace terms; Configscope uses those only to provide support and to answer licence questions.

Who is responsible

Configscope, the vendor listed on the Atlassian Marketplace, is responsible for this policy and is the controller for the contact details described above. Your Jira data stays under your organisation's control and Atlassian's terms throughout; the app only reads it on your administrator's instruction, and keeps none of it.

Hosting logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which keeps standard web server request logs (things like IP address, requested URL and timestamp) for operational purposes, the same as any host. Configscope does not add analytics or tracking on top of that, and does not access those logs to profile individual visitors.
